Abstract

Energy harvesting is a promising solution for situations where batteries are prohibitive, such as body sensor networks and inaccessible remote systems. The efficacy and potential of energy-harvesting devices are heavily dependent on material performance and specialized features. This seminar examines the important qualities and potential of materials used in energy-harvesting systems. An introduction to the idea of energy harvesting is provided, with a focus on the limits of motion energy harvesting.
