Abstract

"Nanotechnology is one of the most active research areas which has wide applications in different fields. As the concrete is the most usable material in construction industry, a continuous need is required to improve its quality. According to research in recent years, nano-concrete is defined as a concrete made by Portland cement and cementitious particles with sizes smaller than 500 nm. Four nano-materials have been used in concrete, namely: Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT), Nano-SiO2, Nano-TiO2, and Carbon Nano Fibers (CNF).
Literature review revealed that well dispersed nano particles enhance the properties of fresh and hardened concrete.
