Integrating Technology in English Language Teaching: Challenges and Opportunities in the Modern Classrooms

The integration of technology into English language teaching has been transformative, offering innovative ways to enhance student engagement, personalize learning, and improve language acquisition. This study explores the integration of various digital tools, including smartboards,AI powered language applications, learning management systems (LMS), and document cameras, within English language education. While these technologies contribute significantly to improved language learning outcomes, several challenges hinder their effective implementation. Access to reliable technology, digital proficiency among educators and students, the need for multilingual support, and curriculum alignment are major barriers identified in this research. The study employed surveys and data analysis to assess the impact of these tools, highlighting that while there is general agreement on the positive effects of technology, concerns about access disparities and technical limitations remain prevalent. The research underscores the necessity of adapting curricula and providing adequate teacher training to maximize the potential of these digital resources. It concludes with a series of recommendations, including the development of clear integration strategies, ongoing professional development for teachers, and the promotion of inclusive, accessible technology to ensure equitable learning experiences. By addressing these challenges, educational institutions can create more engaging and effective English language learning environments in the digital age.
