Abstract
The proposed Erbil Equestrian Club represents a visionary initiative aimed at revitalizing and promoting the cultural, recreational, and economic significance of equestrianism within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Strategically located in Erbil, the project benefits from its proximity to major urban infrastructure and its alignment with regional tourism and development strategies. This thesis forms the foundational stage of the graduation project, focusing on developing a comprehensive research base that informs the subsequent architectural design. The project aspires to create a multifunctional complex that integrates horse training, racing, hospitality, education, and community engagement while preserving Kurdish equestrian heritage. The methodology involves comparative analysis of international precedents, evaluation of local climatic and urban conditions, detailed functional zoning, and site selection studies. The findings underscore the need for a sustainable, culturally resonant, and technically robust architectural response that serves both modern recreational demands and the enduring equestrian traditions of the region.
