Abstract

In this study, we explore the plasmonic properties of a cylindrical waveguide filled with lithium fluoride (LiF) layers sandwiched between graphene sheets, analyzing the effective mode index and permittivity variations across different frequencies and chemical potentials. Our results reveal that both the effective mode index and permittivity are highly tunable based on the chemical potential and frequency, with lower modes exhibiting greater sensitivity to these changes. This tunability allows for dynamic control over plasmonic wave propagation, making the waveguide structure highly versatile for applications in frequency-selective and chemically tunable photonic devices. The observed dependency of mode characteristics on chemical potential and frequency highlights the waveguide’s potential for enhancing field confinement, localization, and stability across a range of plasmonic applications, such as sensors and modulators in the THz frequency region.
