Abstract
"The Iraqi economy faced many complex problems, most notably the problem of the deterioration of the value of the local currency due to the instability of the exchange rate and its plurality, which is the real economic problem caused by the impact of subjection to the policies of the International Fund and the World Bank. The exchange rate is an economic variable that is highly sensitive to internal and external influences, especially in the field of foreign trade and development, as the exchange rate is the link between international economies and a measure of the volume of economic and commercial transactions between countries. In the rate of inflation, growth rate, balance of payments and others.
The decision to reduce the value of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar had negative results, most notably:
1 .Continuous rise in the general level of prices and increase in inflation
2.Increasing the cost of production, as the Iraqi individual, the consumer and the local investor, as well as the companies were affected due to the constant and frequently high changes and the instability in prices
