Abstract

China's cultural creative products (CCPs) lack sufficient appeal and innovation, resulting in little consumer interest. Hence, it is imperative to increase the cultural product attractiveness of products to preserve traditional cultural elements. This study aims to identify the best design process practice to safeguard cultural heritage of cultural and creative products in China. This literature review study examines thematic study of current cultural design process, the relationship between cultural emotions and design, and the characteristics of integrating historical cultural practices into creative design via scholarly between year 1991 and 2022. The study found that by injecting traditional cultural connotations and innovative design into CCP design, it would inhibit cultural history into products therefore spark consumers' emotional resonance and functional experience and enhance consumers' cultural identity and purchase intention. This study indicates that it is essential to utilize traditional cultural connotations and creativity in the design process to contribute to both cultural heritage and economic development.
