Abstract

The evolution of computer simulation tools has revolutionized the way we approach architectural and environmental challenges. From general-purpose programming languages to specialized engineering software, these tools have become indispensable in modern architectural design and environmental analysis. Among these, SOLENE-microclimate stands out as a powerful tool for urban microclimate analysis, particularly in the context of heritage buildings. This study explores the application of SOLENE-microclimate in diagnosing and studying the environmental behavior of heritage buildings in the traditional city of Mosul. By focusing on the physical characteristics of these buildings, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of their environmental performance, propose suitable modern materials for restoration, and ensure the preservation of their visual identity. The findings highlight the program's ability to simulate complex urban environments, offering valuable insights into wind behavior, solar radiation, and thermal comfort.
