Abstract
Streets are used as multi-functional spaces to include places for meeting, gathering, shopping, working andmrecreation. However, the rapid and changing development in people’s needs has caused streets to lose some of their functional and aesthetic characteristics, and thus affected the sustainability of their urban space. The research aims to focus on the level of street paths as they are the link of communication and movement between urban clusters and different functions and because of their effective role in sustainable urban coordination. In addition to studying the ideas related to achieving urban sustainability in the paths of old streets located in the city center. Where Nineveh Street and Ghazi Street in Old Mosul were chosen and how to develop them through sustainable street design principles.
