Abstract
The medical field has been recently interested in discovering new therapeutic methods for cancer cells. In this study, non-invasive cancer treatment methods (laser therapy, ultrasound therapy, and the new strategy called acousto-optic) are thoroughly compared.It focused on clarifying the therapeutic efficacy, safety, and underlying processes of all the performed modalities on the breast cancer cell line (MDA-MB-321). The first treatment method was accomplished by pulsed ultrasound with 1MHz, low sound intensity (ISPTA <1 W/cm2) for 90 seconds in a strategy called low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS). The second method of treatment was accomplished with low-level Nd: YAG laser (532nm and 1064nm), energy range (100-900) mJ, and number of pulses (1-6) in a strategy called low-level laser therapy (LLLT). The acousto-optic (AO) therapeutic strategy involves selective parameters of ultrasound and laser therapeutic strategies and then assesses the viability of cancer cells by MTT assay after 24h of treatment.
