Abstract

Cloud computing has become dominant in today’s
IT world, providing various advantages and benefits over
traditional IT systems as well as a wide variety of adoption models. Risk assessment management in cloud implementations has been accompanied with several challenges due to the new set of security risks emerging from the different cloud environments. Many risk assessment frameworks have been proposed with regard to cloud computing based on the service offering. In this paper, an assessment of cloud computing associated risks is carried in three cloud deployment models namely: the public, private, and hybrid clouds. The results show that organizations are exposed to different risk scores based on the cloud architecture in deployment.
