Abstract

Moodle is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS) designed to facilitate the creation and delivery of online courses. Developed by Martin Dougiamas, Moodle stands for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. The platform was first released in 2002 and has since gained widespread adoption in educational institutions, corporations, and non-profit organizations worldwide. Moodle has played a significant role in the evolution of online education, providing a versatile and adaptable platform for educators to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. Its open-source nature and active community contribute to its ongoing development and innovation in the field of e-learning.
