Abstract
In both Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the telecommunications sector has undergone various stages of transition. In the previous ten years, the industry has grown at an exponential rate. Effective deployment and control of the infrastructure are essential for maintaining this expansion. Since fiber optics technology offers higher bandwidth capacity and high speed for existing and new technologies, it has taken over as the main network infrastructure and a communication medium. Fiber optics technology offers the promise of a flexible, scalable, full-service network platform with potentially infinite capacity as the demand for new technology and services rises. The amount of network outages brought on by frequent failures in fiber optics networks, such as fiber cable cutting, has increased despite considerable and strategic investments in fiber optic infrastructure made by mobile network carriers. fiber cable with a major impact on the experience of subscribers, fiber cable cuts have emerged as the single most important factor in transmission failure or disruption to telecommunications services in Iraq. With a focus on the technical, governmental, and administrative difficulties, this study aims to analyze the difficulties in installing fiber optic cables at Cihan University in Erbil and suggest workable alternatives. External causes like dig-ups during road building can be blamed for the difficulties posed by frequent fiber cutting. A significant danger to fiber management is the absence of regulatory standards and procedures for the deployment and management of fiber.
