Abstract

Assistant-Lecturer Adyar Saadi at the department of English gave a seminar entitled "Ambiguity in English language", on 30 April at 2:00 PM on Hangout meet. Ambiguity is, sometimes, a problem wherein the listener or the reader encounters some troubles in comprehending or understanding a word, phrase, or sentence. While, sometimes, it results in funny and interesting statements whether spoken or written. Hence, the definition of ambiguity and some of its types would be discussed and illustrated by some examples. Finally, the function of ambiguity within the language and how to solve it are pointed out.
