Abstract

Hepatoprotecting effects of this compound was evaluated against thioacetamide (TAA)-induced liver cirrhosis in rats. Thirty adult SD rats were randomly separated into five groups of six rats each. TAA-control group showed significant rise in serum liver biochemical markers go together with by a considerable decrease in the level of total protein and albumin in comparison to normal control group. Hepatotoxic group showed decreased CAT and SOD activity and increase MDA.
